Salt Lake City has enjoyed long and meaningful relationships with our three Asian Sister Cities: Matsumoto, Japan; Keelung, Taiwan; and Quezon City, Philippines. Our oldest Sister City, Matsumoto, will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2028, and the program was thrilled to deepen the city’s ties to Asia further by renewing the partnership with Quezon City, Philippines in 2025.
Sister Cities was proud to celebrate the endless connections between Utah and Asia at the 2026 Utah Asian Festival on June 6. Like the Asian Festival, Sister Cities is built on a foundation of generations of support from communities here in Utah and around the world. We love hearing the stories of how our regions are connected and the people-to-people connections that sustain our work and international partnerships.
