The Sister Cities program was delighted to learn more about the history of Sister Cities and Salt Lake City’s many decades of work with Matsumoto with Consul-General Hiroyuki Okajima during his recent visit to Salt Lake City, which included a visit to Salt Lake Community College, Real Salt Lake, and the Utah Royals.
It was an honor to meet with Dr. Janet Misaka, Honorary Consul Jani Iwamoto, and longtime Sister Cities supporters Bob and Gwen Springmeyer. The Consulate-General of Japan in Denver serves Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, and Sister Cities looks forward to working closely with the Consul-General to plan for the 70th anniversary of Salt Lake City and Matsumoto’s Sister City relationship in 2028.
